On April 6, 2023, the General Directorate of the Petroleum Stock Management Company of Côte d'Ivoire (GESTOCI) officially handed over a school canteen at a cost of more than 12 million FCFA to the primary school of Aboua Kouassikro, in the commune of Yamoussoukro.

The Director General, Ibrahima Doumbia explained that “The construction of this school canteen meets four major objectives: to allow students to eat well; provide the opportunity to follow the course well; increase the attendance rate of students and above all improve the academic results of learners”.

For the Managing Director, GESTOCI, a corporate citizen, thus contributes to the well-being of the populations living near its Yamoussoukro Depot. “These children represent the future of the country. And we are taking our full part in training the elite of the Ivory Coast of tomorrow,” he underlined.

Ibrahima Doumbia was also delighted with the enthusiasm that the construction of the canteen aroused not only among the students, but also the parents and the educational community. He invited his beneficiaries to make good use of this gift.

On behalf of her fellow students, student Coralie Atsin expressed her fellow students' gratitude to the donors. "Thank you to GESTOCI headed by the dynamic, valiant and visionary Director General for his civic action which is part of the long term and which will bring a breath of fresh air to us, the students of the EPP Aboua Kouassikro", said she said before revealing that very often some of their classmates came back to class in the afternoons without being able to eat for those who were not from the village. “It is now a thing of the past thanks to you. Be rewarded beyond your expectations,” she said in favor of the GESTOCI delegation.

Present at this ceremony, the representative of the mayor of Yamoussoukro, Karamoko Konaté, the inspector of primary and preschool education, Solange Zehia, the director of the EPP Aboua Kouassikro, Marcel Zahui, each welcomed the high-impact act social posed by GESTOCI.

A large GESTOCI delegation was present at the handing over of the school canteen, including the Deputy Director General, Nina Keita Kamara, members of the Management Committee, and certain “Gestociens” agents from the Yamoussoukro Depot.

The canteen includes a refectory, a store and a kitchen.
